63. Bulk Translations

The Polyglots team announced a new feature on the translation platform that allows GTEs to perform bulk translations. This tool automates the translation of multiple text strings, improving efficiency in large-scale projects. Additionally, it uses translation memories to maintain consistent terminology and offers flexibility by integrating AI-based translation engines, such as OpenAI and DeepL, adapting to the specific needs of each project.

The Community team has published a post that continues the conversation from WordCamp Canada 2024 about the need to integrate Indigenous voices, especially in a context like Canada’s, where there is a commitment to truth and reconciliation. The initiative seeks to address the lack of Indigenous participation in technology, a field where Indigenous communities face significant inequalities.

The article also explains that the term “Indigenous” encompasses the native peoples of North America, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, and emphasizes the importance of referring to them by their specific names.

In recent days, two new versions of BuddyPress have been released, 14.3.1 and 14.3.3.

The first version adds compatibility with WordPress 6.7 and fixes a HeartBeat issue. The second version fixes an issue from the previous release.

The WordCamp Asia team has already launched its call for future editions of the event, in this case, for the year 2026. The call will close on January 1, 2025.
